Our four week construction participation programme, SummerBuild, is open for applications. Details here.
SummerBuild is a four-week programme offering the opportunity to assist in the construction of experimental timber buildings at the Architectural Association’s Hooke Park campus. Working alongside students of the Design + Make programme and the Hooke Park team participants will be exposed to many aspects of timber architecture from forestry operations to robotic fabrication.
The programme is open to architecture, design and engineering students and young professionals, as well as those from other backgrounds, who seek hands-on experience of timber fabrication in a rural environment. Participants are supervised and are expected to work on fabrication and construction activities Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Additionally, a few informal evening lectures and software tutorials will be offered by members of our teaching staff.
